Starting out the New Year with a few lovely birds!

Picture #5 is a male Harrier? Thought they were grey ???  Beauty photo, whatever sex.

Picture #5 is a male Harrier? Thought they were grey ???  Beauty photo, whatever sex.
He is grey - sunset light gave him the orange tinting.... I figure he might be an young adult, with some bit of brown still on him.  But.... he was definitely grey... I was in awe. They are amazing birds.

Eurasian Wigeon:




Intergrade Northern Flicker.   Note the black stripe (malar) and red crown on the head typical of the yellow shafted flicker, generally birds from farther east, together with the red shafted colour under the tail.
