Most of us have tried or thought about making our own lures lets face it LOL 
lets see some pics of what everyone has made.
I am starting to make some out of rebar jigs for bottom fishing.

Couple samples of some very cheap and ugly lures. They look brutal but have put many trout in the boat over the years. Started making these about 20 years ago when money was tight. Top one is about 10 years old and has gone through a few hooks and new line over the years. Bottom is about 3-4 years old.

Those will be great for pink season.

Eh?? And how? I've seen pinks chase some interesting offerings - but no chance for these - plus they are far from legal.
 

Is this a joke and I missed something (was expecting to see Reiber's name as the OP)? I'd love to see you justify these to a CO. I applaud creativity when it produces positive and ethical outcomes, but I would assume these are nothing but a snagging tool as ChumWhisperer was insinuating.

- in the tidal waters of the Fraser River, where you can attach two hooks,
artificial lures or artificial flies to a bar rig
- in tidal waters, where you can attach any number of hooks to a fishing
line if using the hooks in combination to hold a single piece of bait
- in tidal waters, where you can attach any number of hooks to a fishing
line if fishing for herring, mackerel, northern anchovy, Pacific sand lance,
Pacific sardine or squid

Hey, hey --- I'm a little offended by that. You spelled my name incorrectly. 

Anywaya, the hooks need to be set back a little more to be more effective and you don't need the zap strap. The bucktail jigs we used to use in the Columbia below the Hugh Kenlyside Dam, and up in the narrows during low water, for Bull Trout had those split hooks and never pulled apart.

Thanks! It was made from 1/8" thick copper sheet and I hammered it out on a stake. Later, I polished it smooth with a belt sander, some sandpaper and polishing compound. The final weight is 14g.

Have you fished it yet? I give you credit man sometimes I'm too lazy to put them together with bought components let alone hammer out a spoon.
