The season is slowly winding down. Still a few weeks to go yet. When the river is low. Fish low. Try Lickman Rd area.
Whys that? Imo when the water is low fish pocket water and rapids because the fish spook very easily especially in high populated areas like lickman road. Mid river rapids are super productive when the water is low.

Just wondering what the water is like. Plenty of rain but the snow level on the local mountains is low and hoping that it kept the Vedder/Chilliwack system in shape. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance for your time.

The water conditions were great until around 3:00 PM, then a sudden bump in flow. The wind and rain got cold as predicted and chased us off , but not before we managed one nice wild doe to hand. It was a real beauty with no marks or blemishes to see.. Best part , my son and favorite fishing partner was there to tail it for me. And fine job he did handling her with care and releasing her after a quick pic. I'd post it but Can't seem to figure out how.

I’m glad that the c/v steelhead are still going strong.

Talked to the cap hatchery manager tonight said the cap summer run is going threw a genetic bottle neck and the winter run is doing only slightly better.

RIP cap steelhead

It was bound to happen. With so little spawning gravel and rapid water fluctuations from the dam I doubt there’s much successful natural spawning going on there.

Water very low and clear. River looks apocalyptic for this time of yr. Saw a guy that waded across the river and was fishing the opposite side of the slab! Lol. Lots of cars parked at Wilson Rd. Gun barrel must be holding a few fish.

I have friends coming from the interior for the long weekend. I don't fish the Vedder, but they are wondering if it is still good for a day of fishing for them?

I've been on the island for a few weeks working and took a trip up island to Campbell R hoping to find fish but every river in sight here is super low and clear as well, even with some recent rain

How is the water clarity after all that rain? Still low though at 1.54m even after the downpour.

Guess Chris has given up on the reports. I drove over the KWB today and it looked clear and still very very low. Went from high water for several weeks at the start of the season to very low summer drought conditions for several weeks at the end of the season. What a weird season it has been and not one report from Chris on playing a fish. Strange times indeed. Time to start thinking about Kokanees on Kawkawa Lake.

That’s twice on the past 6 months.

Don’t go making this a habit or anything 😀
