It was not fresh but not a complete boot either. It put up a bit of a fight but it was a small fish so it came in quickly. I would guess about 4ish lbs.

Snowing now perfect for steelhead fishing, for the scenery anyway.

Freezing rain now' another 3 to 4 inches of snow overnight. I will have the whole river to myself, if I can get out of my driveway.

Good luck Chris. I think all 3 fish in the river have already been caught

Bad freezing rain, I think I will go for coffee and work on videos and pictures. Happy New Year.

Was out testing my new reel yesterday. It started with ice pellets and wind, which turned to corn snow and wind, which turned to snow. And windier. Dropped my left glove in the water, but finished off the run before returning home to a power outage. Strangely, cold beer made it all better!

Reel worked great, by the way.

Blue skies now but heard the river was going out as warmer up top, clay slides seeing chunks slipping into the river?  Inversion weather pattern too.

At least it was your glove in the water and not your reel like mine on the 27th. doh!!

Glad to hear that new reel is getting some use already, and cold beer cures all ailments!!
