I wish there was an answer to this problem. Obviously this issue is pretty complex because no place in history has ever been able to solve it. The easy answer is to chase them away but what if they move beside your house? When we chase them from one spot they have to go somewhere and that is the problem, where? I am not aware of any society in history, either left wing liberals or right wing conservatives, that have had a solution. We can say it is a mental health issue and lock them up like criminals but that isn't a solution, just a bandaid. We can say it is a drug issue and lock them up, but again, just a bandaid because they can't be locked up forever. We can give them a place to call their own, like the tent city in M.R, but it becomes apparent that they are unable to live in a safe, healthy or acceptable community, drugs, theft and hygiene among other things become issues quickly. And it is hard to remember that they are people too, not just some offshoot of society that we ignore until we find our window glass on the road.
