A well fought game. Lots of fast skating. Was 3-2 Canucks but replay showed play was off side so goal taken away & back to 2-2 ...then OT with lots of exciting chances by both teams. In the shoot out thought the Canuck players made it easy for the Oiler goalie.
Oilers finally got the win on a perfect shot that any goalie would of had a hard time stopping. Guy let it go from 10 ft directly in front of the net. The shot was hard fast & top right shelf of the net.
Markstrom knew this shot was tricky to read as the shooter could of targeted all 4 corners of the net or gone 5 hole. In a shoot out it's a break away so why not get the best shot you can as no one is there to check you. Why go in too close & deke it
Goalie has the advantage every time.
Have the puck 10 ft directly infront of the net on your stick blade & whip a shot to any of the five target areas. If the shot is placed on target the
shooter has the advantage. Kinda like in soccer a penalty shot the ball normally beats the goalie
Canucks did put in a really good effort. They did not back down either when the Oilers got physical.
We get the pt so that's good. All is not lost.
Our old back up goalie gets a win in Ottawa. 4-2
Nielsson or whoever he is.
