2018-2019 NHL Season
« on: October 03, 2018, 10:42:07 PM »

Opening night of the regular season. The Make Beliefs squeaked out an overtime win against the lowly Canadiens while on the West Coast the Canucks won decisively over the Flames 5-2. Many more wins to come. Who would have believe the Capitals blanked the Boston Bruins 7-0 ?

Canucks get a big W & how many times were they short handed? A lot .
Our stopper played great. Penalty killing for Vancouver gets an A plus.
Now they go to Calgary for a return meeting & will they compete or get snowballed & lose by a bakers dozen.  Bruins stoppers ??? Or team ??? 7-0 zippo (???)
Toronto stars win the day for the Maple Leafs.

Canucks skated hard but the out shot them by a big margin so they deserved to win .
But we have a talented player who has good skating skills & has a great shot. Rookie Petterson or however his name is spelt.
Canucks over all look good but goaltending ??? Think should be better.

Leaf star players come up big again & win by a goal over Chicago.
Well some team is going to win the Cup & surely the Leafs have a shot. Problem is there are plenty of other good teams. Long road ahead....

Leafs win over Dallas. Canucks lost on the road.
Leafs are potting in a lot of goals most games in the start of the season.

Your so right! Pettersen has been a real joy to watch. He's exciting, skates well, has desire, has a great shot & he gets it away so quickly.
The game in Calgary the tv color man said something about that other teams are going to have to start hitting Pettersen so to slow him / wear him out / or make him more cautious about skating towards the net I guess was his idea. Tell you the truth was not too happy with the guy 's comment. He should just say what is happening in the game but not on air giving advice to hit Pettersen. Boo !!!!
Hopefully if he does get future hits they are hits within the rules.
Not boarding or hits from behind. Or a stick cross check in his teeth. We need this guy to say healthy.

Canucks and the Lions win. Perfect night.
Too bad the games overlapped on tv. Was changing chs a lot.
Chris Leafs won but Argos are the pits. Not a perfect night.
Canucks win & they look impressive in doing so. Lots of energy.
Lions too looked energized & determined.
Just maybe ....good things are in store.  :)

So far the Leafs & the Canucks have demonstrated that they are much improved teams from a yr. ago.
Kings are not push overs & they were defeated by the Leafs tonight.
Should be interesting when the Canucks play against TO.
End of game will be  ;D or  :'(

The rolling ball may stop tonight for both Canucks & Leafs. They play against the Jets & Pens.
Think the Jets are a little grumpy at times & watch out if they are.
Mind you they can't hit what they cannot catch. Unless they give out a boarding or cross check in the guy's teeth. Boooooooooooo!!!!!
Dirty hits by dirty players. Some players have a mean streak on & off the ice. They decide to be that way. Who are they? Hint they never "smile" but look grumpy. Sounds like the entire Jet team. Careful Canucks.

That 's the sign of a good team. Get a W after a loss. Bounce back.
Canucks truly are so much more energized than recent past years.
With the old blood twins gone...twins were like anchors to the team in the last two years. But hats off to them as they did play so well over all.  Marchant did not nose or lick anyone tonight.m ;D
Canucks 2 -1 over Boston in OT.
