St. Louis deserved that win. They were the better team last night.
FA welcome back to the NHL topic. Great ya finally watched a game.
Thought ya caught that dreaded Lost In Action Disease!
Ya Blues outshot Dallas by quite a bit.
But the quality chances Dallas had & Blues the score should of been 5-4 easily.
Right from the start of game Stars had a clear break away. Big save.
A good goalie goes a long way. Mentioned Ken Dryden. All those Stanley Cups in the 70s the a Canadians got was because of having a great goalie. Boston was a power house with Orr Esposito etc who both had over 100 pt seasons. Phil Esposito 76 goals. Experts thought the Canadians would lose the series..
Boston won most of the reg. season games.
Game 1 Bruins win 3-1
Game 2 Bruins ahead 4-1 in the game...rolling along...
Canadians score 4 unanswered goals & WIN.
Think series went to game 7.
Many of those Stanley series in the 70s went to 6-7 games & Dryden was the edge.
Boston Chicago Flyers NYI were power houses during this time.
Toronto Detroit St Louis NY Rangers had very good teams too. Canucks Stars etc..not so.
Even Sabres were quite good as they had the French Connection Line.
The 60's hockey was entertaining but so much goon hockey & so many whistles.
So many games was very rough/fights...original six.
Of course the Flyers in the 70s were very rough / fighting.
Flyers would destroy the Canucks with their tactics. Tails between their legs.
That's when the slogan came out I guess. Went to hockey game & game broke out. ( kinda idea )
Marchant is so weird .....man of a few words.
This year "psychology"
Last year he licked players on their face
Guess it's his way to deal with the stress.
Can you imagine if Torts was his coach & Merchant was in his dog house.
Those guys would have to stay away from each other one end of bench to other far side.
Kinda like coach Kenan & Brett Hull were like a cat & mouse.
Looking forward to Bruins & Hurricanes match up.
This will be two trains on the same track going opposite ways. Bigger train will win the collision.
Boston have looked steady as have Hurricanes.
Hurricanes have had time to catch their 2nd & 3rd wind ( heal bumps & bruises ) so it's. " very very very interesting "
Ya TNA it was a crazy goal. Kinda like those machines ya stick a 25 cents or whatever & metal ball bumps about & flappers try to keep ball in play.
Goalies were so tuned in & calm....maybe they had radar in their helmet.
