FA's BC Lions have had a up. & down season.
Mainly down.
Braddon Bridge QB got a start in the 2nd half & he looked very comfortable & cool on the field.
He threw some nice balls for completions but he threw interceptions mainly because he was rushed or pressured & he chanced it to make something out of the play.
I mean when a D man just runs by OL #58 & straight to the QB ????
The Lion player looked like he was on a time out.
He barely moved ???
He gets paid to try to stop the rush. Unreal.
Other OL guys ???
Definately the Lions need 5 good offensive linemen for next season. Reilly weakness is he just sits in the pocket even if the blitz is on...stitting duck. Try to bale out at least & buy time. Bridge at least sees the pressure & he bales out & buys time. What else do the Lions need?
An OC that can get in play calls so when the blitz comes Lions throw a quick hitter...over the middle for easy 6-8 yds. Make the blitzing team pay for bringing the house. Come & get me...bang over the middle pass for 8 yds.
Bridge senses the heat & he runs out of the pocket & buys time & finds recievers for completions.
If I were coach ...my first move of the start of the season would be for QBs to wear extra protection around the ribcage so soften the big hits they will take.
Next season fix OL &  Reilly #1 QB for starts but if he has a bad half pull him out & start Bridge in the 2nd half. Yes I think he brings a lot to the table & is a great fit for our back up.
Who's going to win the Cup this yr?
Sk or Hamilton or Calgary or Winnipeg are some favourites out of the 6.
Nice if SK takes it or Blue Bombers.
Best fans are SK I think & glad they have a good team.
But let the chips fall where they will. Best team or well prepared team win it all.

Stampedes far from being sharp last night. If they play like last night against the Bombers it would be over quick

. Agreed. Stamp recievers could not catch the ball & it was in their hands.

There was another game at BC Place where the visiting team had a lousy game ..Hamilton I think it was.
They got 13 pts or something ??? & still won.
Lions seemed snake bitten this yr but teams turn around quick...
Next year will be better.  :)
( wonder how many Lion aged fans dropped dead via heart attack ? )
Did not see Wally Buono at the game. Maybe some fans would chant his name. "Come back Wally!"
"One more year"

FA there was a GM meeting with the head coach.
Kinda like judgement or performance.
Another meeting in a few days & we find out if Claybrooks will be the head coach next year.
I think he deserves another chance.
The O line was the problem.
But something tells me there are other career coaches now unemployed have expressed interest to coach again with any cfl team needing a coach.
Example : ex Argo Als & Chicago Bear coach ....
Or Lulay even ( who knows )
We will find out.
It will not be Wally B. that's for sure.

Claybrooks was fired today. It was inevitable given his record. Ed Hervey should have been fired too

Wow that was quick.
The head coach is normally the go to guy to shake up an organization.
Easier to fire the coach than get rid of 1/2 the team.
The guy really wanted to win badly. Bet he has cried tears.
Nevertheless he should catch on as defensive coach or possibly head position even in future.
FA for head coach  8)

Coach FA the play-off game is won by the Esks over the Als.
37-29.
Near the end of the game QB Adams ran & went to the ground & the Edmonton D held up on the tackle nevertheless his hand grabbed the back of Adams helmet. Should of been a penalty.
Shortly after QB Adams ran up field & went down & right after a big Edmonton D man fell right on top of his back. Full weight/helmet in his back.
Should of been a penalty. Roughing or piling on.
But Edmonton played a great game & deserved to win.
Next week Esks vs Tigercats.
Next game today Stamps & Bombers at Calgary / cold & snowy. -15 C
Grey Cup in Calgary in 2 weeks.

Winnipeg leading Calgary 15-14 in the 3rd quarter. Because of the cold weather whichever team has the better running game will win

25-14 in the 4th 9:16 to go.
Lots of empty seats in McMann Stadium.
With all that oil $$$ & boom yrs in the past they could be playing in a warm covered place.
& the game would be a sell out.
Looks like Bombers have a good chance to W but we have seen games that looked like the sure W only for the other team score 14 or more pts with little time on clock.
Hope Stamps lose as they got the Cup last yr.

EDIT IN:
......game over & Bombers win by a landslide !!! Crazy. QB was forcing the ball too many times so am not surprised he was picked off. Forcing the ball on a 30 yd pass with his receiver covered like glue by 2 defenders !!!! He's asking to be picked off.
You called it "right on" FA ...last week ya commented that the Stamps did not play well in their win over the Lions.
Ya also stated the run will decide a W or a loser.
Right again you are. Run up the middle for long TD.
The back up big physical QB comes in & runs for big yds & pts.
Early part of game Stamps looked good & Bombers not so but it's a long game in those cold snowy conditions.
Now it's Bombers vs Roughriders & Esks vs Tigercats.
Could the Grey Cup matchup be between Esk vs Bombers or Sk.  ;D
Esk vs Bombers is not so weird as yrs ago Winnipeg was in the east division I think when Ottawa had no team.
But Sk Roughriders vs Ed. Esks for Grey Cup "interesting to say the least.
Whoever makes it there hopefully the game conditions will not be too cold.
-15 C today but Monday & during week only around 0 C ( 32 F ).
32 F would be ok.

Hamilton vs Winnipeg in next week Grey Cup in Calgary.
If Edmonton won over Hamilton today they would of be presented the Eastern Champion trophy.
How crazy is that.
Sask. has it first & 10 on the 5 yd line. QB throws it long into the end zone 3x for incompletions.
Man...1st down do a swing pass or pitch out running play. Even if ya get 3 yds  the ball now is on the 2 yd line with 2 downs.
Fake run & short quick short pass or even 2 more running plays...
Bang it in.
George Reed FB great in the stands must of went nuts.
Anyways was not cheering for anyone nor will in next week's game.
Both teams look very good. & motivated to win it next week & they have the guns.
Personally think Bombers will win but let the chips fall where they will.

Both games very entertaining. Riders certainly had their opportunities but they couldn't capitalize in the red zone. Should be a great Grey Cup. Both teams haven't won it for a long time. One team is going to break their losing streak next Sunday.

Rider fans still must be disappointed. Western final & all they needed was 2 W's & be the Grey Cup Champions. Plus 1st down on the 5 yd line to get the game tied at end.
They must be so down.
Fans must be more disappointed than the BC Lions fans presently.
We had time to digest our bad season.
First & 5 & not get it punched in from there in your stadium...
No excuse for it.
Now it comes down to Bombers vs Tigercats.
May the best team win.
I'm happy for whoever wins & sad for whoever loses.
They both had good seasons.
Wonder how the weather conditions are?
If too cold or snow as FA says running backs play a big role & they just have to hold on to the ball.
Winnipeg has a veteran OL so that should open holes & also they should give time for QB to make passes.
But as crazy as it is one team can control the ball 60-70% of the time but still lose.
Just that other team has big plays for TDs....long bomb passes or fumble & it goes the other way to pay dirt.
Hope it's a good one!  :)

EDIT IN: Bombers win in one sided  game.
Bombers were on a mission.
The big physical team dominated on offense & defense.
Hamilton shot themselves in the foot. 4-5 giveaways...intercepts fumbles loss on downs...
Andrew Harris & Adam Bighill ex Lions played a big part in the win.
The O line created holes that a grampa in a wheelchair could of went for 10 yds.
Great win for the Bombers ! Horrible loss for the Tigercats.
Anglo Mosca must of threw the tv out the window after the 1st qtr. & went to bed.
29 yrs since their last Cup.
No butter flies on this team.

Car 54 where are you?
FA must be still shocked over the BC Lion season.
Poor guy.
Mulling over to get 2020 season tickets.
My advice is buy game tickets & if the product is improved buy season tickets  8)
Maybe tricky business practises the Lions give discount only if fans buy before the season starts ?
All I know the Lions could be helped by Bighill & Harris.
Geroy Simon went to Riders & they win Grey Cup in Regina.
Doug Flutie QB goes to Stamps & Argos & Cups follow.
Lions have shot themselves in the foot.
Imagine this play only if ......defence puts on a rush on Lion's Mike Reilly. Reilly throws swing pass screen to Andrew Harris & he rumbles 20 yds !!!
Or defence rush goes after Reilly & delay handoff to Harris. He goes up the middle for a 1st down.
Submarine Chris is busy bagging ducks ...
Plucking feathers.
FA you must be very busy ....not to comment on a Grey Cup game ;)

Busy making the Lions and Canucks great again. ;) I picked Hamilton to win. What do I know ?? Winnipeg fully deserving to be Grey Cup champions. Their defensive and offensive lines dominated.
