Stabilizing the Tolmie Clay Slide, update

A brief news update for readers:

Re: Stabilizing the Tolmie Clay Slide

We have been busy getting the materials stockpiled at the Tolmie Clay Slide site:  rip rap rock (851m3), granite boulders(about 250 m3),  large woody debris (about 50 large cedar and fir stumps) and the access constructed to the groyne sites.  I am very pleased the way things have gone and we are now ready to place the groynes.  We had to get the materials stockpiled when the heavy equipment was available and we will now be off until at least August 23 as I will be away and the equipment is on another job that pays a lot more than we get it for.  I estimate we need about three more days with the 40 ton excavator to place the groynes and finish up this years work.

When work is expected to start again you will be more than welcome to visit the site to see the groynes being placed.

Thanks for your support.
