I know forgot to put the wink on.

Many people say the Fv don't fight as well as Pennasks are other strains. I find them pretty good fighters especially bigger ones ( but you could say that about any trout). I  think part of the reason is that Fv's do better in low oxy lakes  like Kidd or Morgan....

What is your experience with quality of fight from them?

The fight of a Pennask is very visual so that's pretty exciting.

This past week we targeted big FV, and that was a different excitement. Having them hunkering down at 30ft and just wouldn't budge was pretty fun.

I havent bonked a lot of FV bows in recent years, but the ones I did were usually pale white meat....maybe a hint of orange.
Bad luck on my part....I guess

Nothing to do with luck. It’s God’s will, you should know that already 🤣🤣🤣

Robert,
Did the lakes you fished have scuds in them?

Most lakes I fish have at least some scuds or shrimp of some sort in them.
One of the first things I do when I get to a lake it move some rocks around near the shore in about 6 inches of water. There are usually some scuds zooming around.

Nice fish Rodney and Kitty! Yes, those FV can be tough fish. FWIW - in my experience, FV's that I've caught in the interior all had red meat, just like their Pennask counterparts. But I prefer the torpedo-shaped Pennask with their aerial display! Also, we (Stratocaster and I) owe you a thanks!  ;)

You're welcome. ;D Next time we should all be at the lake together, maybe invite DanL too. ;D

All strains of trout including FV's get orange/red meat when they eat freshwater shrimp.

You'll never see a FV with Red meat.  They'll get a ok orange coloured meat but taste nothing like pennasks.
