I now am a fan of Maui Jims.  But these are not in that price range.
Prior to Maui Jims, I used to get good quality polarized glasses from Costco.

Thats a pretty strong reccomendation.
Thanks.I just ordered a couple pairs.

I'm unsure of if the video quality will be good enough to see the difference they make (there are a number of cutthroat in frame). It's crystal clear on my phone, but YouTube changed the quality a bit on me! I really can't stress how good the polarization is on these.

Thanks Everyday,
I do a lot of creeping and climbing with polarized on my hat. I wear my good ones for stuff like beach, boat, or lake...which is less than half of my fishing. I have toasted more than one pair of expensive ones. Combined  with the fact that forget them, a few of these would go long way.

That's why I bought 7 pairs! I've lost a couple to the river, lost a few bush crashing, scratch them,  etc. Still have 4 pairs, but perhaps I should order more - they seem to be getting harder to find online.

Every Day, how's the width on those glasses? Any bigger than average?

I know Maui Jim, Oakley, Rayban, etc... are top notch but it's more than I'm looking to spend. My dad's never been a sunglass wearer but he asked for a pair after hearing me talk about how cool polarized lenses are. I'd like to know if he'll be a regular wearer before looking at pricier options.

I'd say they are an average pair of glasses,  but the arms are quite flexible/ bendy, so I'm sure they'd fit!

Well i received my glasses that Everyday was recomending and they are certainly not for a Pumpkin like mine.
The  arms fit fine but the actual glasses part is more of a kids size.
Im returning them as they are of no use to me.

Thanks for the update FL. I'm going to check out MEC with dad next weekend for a belated sunglasses gift... it was either shop or fish last Sunday and we both wanted to fish ;)

Thats the best way.
Take him with you and let him try them on or at least see them first.

Im a big fan of Ryders Eyeware sunglasses. They are local to North Van. I dont know about sizing but they do have "large"

Ah that's unfortunate! Maybe you can find a model that suits your head better? I never thought about lens size fit. I doubt the lenses/polarization changes much between models within the same company?

Another thing i have noticed out there is that its really hard to find the dark amber lenses.

Many of the amber lenses now are a lot more yellow/orange than the amber from years ago.
