So I went on a bit of a 4x4 camping trip.   And stopped at a few of the small lakes.  And tried fishing.  First was lookout lake.  I was there for a couple hours.   It’s a super nice little lake.  But no fish I didn’t even see one Surface.     But lots of little frogs hatched they were everywhere     Second was Francis lake. Also a great little lake stayed there today in the morning for a 2 hours  fishing  also seen no fish.    I was just wondering if anyone on here has caught fish out of those 2 lakes.    Or are they winter kill lakes or just no fish?     I didn’t make it to sunrise lake my front drive shaft started making a awful noise so after hale I just kept it in 2wd.      Hale creek (Harrison lake )was good for fishing.  But only pike minnow.    And it was cool watching the water bombers hit the fire on Long Island.  They got it mostly out last night.  So that’s good.   And other stop I did was north chahalis.  Fished the creeks that feeds the top for hours.  With bait lures and flies.   Also nothing.   And didn’t even see one fish jump.  I usually do ok at that spot

Too hot right now. Nothing biting in those small bodies of water. The lakes you mentioned I believe are not stocked either.

I have caught some relatively nice fish out of Francis but it is typically not an easy fishery. It probably won't winter kill since it is surprisingly deep in parts (over 40 feet if I remember right). I have never fished Lookout lake so I can't comment on that one.

Decent.     I’m going to hit up Davis in mission this weekend on the tube. See if I can get something other then a pike Minnow to bite.  But people please let me know about look out.   And sunrise.

I can't find any stocking reports for Sunrise, but Lookout is definitely still stocked by the FFSBC.

Just a reminder, the tributaries of Chehalis lake are closed to fishing.
I know that all of the lakes you mentioned did hold fish at some point in the last 20 years, but I don't have any reports or first hand experience with them in the last 10 or so. How's the road down to Hale these days?

Yes about the tributaries!!!!    The road to hale isn’t to bad.   A few loose rocks and 2 drainage ditches that would eat a car.   Other then that.   Basically any 4x4 can make it.   There was a lifted VW golf GTI that made it down and up.       I have a lifted grand Cherokee on 33” tires I did it in 2wd down and up

Cool thanks. I was down there about a year ago (also in a lifted grand cherokee), and there were a few questionable spots for stock vehicles. I have a stock silverado now, but don't want to attempt it if it's going to be too rough!

I was at Wood Lake last year, it's stocked but I saw a number of fish belly up. low oxygen I presume

Francis was stocked with yearlings this year (I think that makes them about 2.5" long)... didn't see any sign of them back in June when I went up to test the new fishfinder. Lake surface temp was 20.7C 

That lake is 60+ deep in the back left corner!  I was surprised. 

It has always fished better for me in Late March/April/Early May.

The best lake in that area back there is Statlu lake IMO. Non stop action. Some good size fish too.

I’ve driven to the washed out bridge.   But then I don’t know which way that lake is. Do you hike up the creek ?
