Dave Steele, the owner of Highwater Tackle passed on yesterday from an aggressive form of cancer. Dave was one of the good guys.

sad news and condolences to his family. Only been in the shop once or twice but it is a nice place with great staff including his daughter Gillian. I always enjoyed and remembered Dave's last page opinion pieces in BC Outdoors magazines. Didn't always agree but always enjoyed!

Very sad news indeed. Last time I saw Dave was last year during the pink season.

Holy crap, that is awful, I was wondering why I had not seen him in a while.

Just talked to Gill on Saturday.

Damn it.  :'(

I was only in the shop a couple of times. I remember a chat we had about fishing steelhead on the Cheakimus river many yrs ago. Always enjoyed reading Daves writings in B.C Outdoors. My heart felt condolences to the family.
