Thinking about taking a drive to Lundbom Lake or Marquart Lake to do some kayak fishing, I know nothing about these lakes.
They both can be pretty spotty this time of year, so usually not that busy, but reasonable success can still be had. A sounder is a must have, as you have to know there are fish in the area to have any chance. Depth control will likely be important as well, but that goes for any time of year.
If you cant find anything on the sounder, then go up into the shallows and cast right up into the reeds.
The times I've been to those lakes in the summer, the throat pumps have been either a sparse mix of c-mids/bloodworms, daphnia, or just plain empty. The specific pattern used didnt seem that important, so assuming you fly fish, throw whatever attractors/patterns you have the most confidence in and mix it up if no success. I'm partial to micro-leeches when there's no specific hatch to match, but I'm sure buggers, spratleys, careys, or any other classic pattern will be just as good.
