A wet miserable morning on the flow this morning, landed 3 doe chum salmon was all for me, all fresh run fish. The odd coho salmon landed and one bright chinook salmon taken too.

Rain has now stopped and the river is on the rise, also very windy.

See? Not over yet. ;D

Not a bad outing today. I crawled out of bed and into the truck, ended up at the river at 10am. ;D First hour was a little challenging, but from 11am to 1:30pm or so, I ended up hooking 10. 2 were the above hatchery fish. 7 were wild and they were probably the brightest fish I've had so far this season. The tenth fish was lost because the hook came off the spoon. I guess it thought I caught too many and gave up.  :D Water clarity was just right, hopefully the rain this weekend doesn't degrade it too much.

You are such a tease.

Went out yesterday, was very windy at times, fishing was still good, lots of wild cohos in the system, I managed to get one hatchery. Lots of debris on the road due to winds.
Saw fishing doctors and gofishingbc youtube guys out there too.

A pleasant morning to be out there, I was surprised to see a lot of anglers out on the flow.

I fished from 7 to about 9 and landed 3 chum salmon, the cleanest was a buck. The odd coho landed by others, most were wild fish. I had a nice one on. I missed the take down but it chased the roe as I reeled in but after a few jump it fell off.

Most likley my last time out there as the coming rain storm will most likely make the river unfishable once again.

A few more pics from the last little while, still a bit more good fishing left. ;)

I see on social media the Aquatic monkey pulled out a rogue gill net that was hung from the train bridge. Bunch of dead salmon were in the gill net. A new low for the C/V system.

So, I'm curious... could that be a legal FN net?

If it is really an illegal net, I'm going to be an armchair critic and suggest I think he should have reported it to RAPP or ORR before cutting it apart and throwing it away. Or maybe he did...

I reported it to rapp on Thursday afternoon.
Spoke to a CO today who said that report was passed on to DFO.

For every net that is seen there are probably 10 that are removed by the person that puts them there with a bunch of fish before anyone notices.
