Looks like the river got muddy from all the rain, currently on the drop but more rain in the forecast. Hoping it doesn't bump back up so I can sneak out tomorrow

I saw city bylaw officers writing tickets for parking in the bike lane on Boundary rd west of the Kieth Wilson Bridge.   :o

Drove by Keith Wilson this afternoon. LOTS of cars parked on the side of the road. Just a matter of time when the farmers start complaining.

They can fix the parking issue by keeping 1 side of the dyke open.  I am a bit surprised they didn't do that.

Heavy equipment moving on both sides of the canal now. The Boundary rd gate is being monitored by traffic control.

Why couldn't they work on 1 side and then the other? They can have both crews working the same side.

No reason. There are two workers sitting for "traffic control", and one excavator working in the canal. Very safe

The dyke on Abbotsford side has been closed to vehicle access permanently since many years ago, due to irresponsible usage. I believe the Fraser Valley Salmon Society pushed against the closure and was unsuccessful.

I saw the biggest push of chinook salmon through the C/V system a couple days ago once river level dropped a bit after the rain. Fun to watch and hook a few, but tough to get the coho to bite.

Rod you are right about the Abbotsford side, too much garbage dumping and trucks ripping up the riparian zone. However the Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Society and The Fraser Valley Salmon Society met several time with the City of Chilliwack to keep the East side of the Vedder Canal dyke road open from the Salwein gravel pit down to the East,to the Frontage Road near Cannor Road. I hope the people parking in this area do not dump their cups and other litter in this area, I used to clean it up, must check it out today.
