Any thoughts, concerns regarding the bear leg? Nice fish!

not quite a partridge in  a pear is it?

I can image what it would be like at my place on the morning of the 25th.
"Hey honey look what I brought home to put under the tree!"
Looks like someone used it to make soup!

Good question, Dave. No concerns from me. The paw was mostly intact so I doubt poachers.  I gave a quick look around but no other parts were evident. Lots of black bear activity in the area; I was seeing half eaten chum and game trails all afternoon. I suspect the carcass was dumped nearby by legitimate hunters, or it got hit by a vehicle, or even natural causes, but my spider senses weren’t going off.

most likely hit by a car and died after crawling away from the crash site. I have seen that before.
