Spinner components
« on: January 16, 2025, 09:40:33 PM »

Anyone make your own spinners?
Seems most suppliers are in the states and with the exchange rate and shipping to BC I can't find a place where the price makes sense.  To get all the components to build 50 spinners runs 350 bucks after exchange and shipping..  7 bucks each, does not make it worth while.  Not looking to sell, just to build for my own use.

Ebay, Temu, Amazon and other similar sites have blades wire etc with free shipping mostly from China.

Berry's used to carry a good selection of lure making supplies but seems to have gotten out of it with the new ownership. Calling a few shops may give an idea what's available locally.

I used to make my own, but mostly recently placed an order with First Strike Lures for pre-made spinners.
https://www.firststrikelures.com/

They (Gord) also sells the components to built your own.

A spinner costs $5.49 USD pre built, or you can buy the components for the same spinner for $4.69 USD. You can also buy components in bulk and if my math is correct, you can get a blade, clevis, body, hook and wire for under $3.00 USD

Shipping is $13.99 to Canada but $3.99 to Washington State. If you have connections in the US, or a mailbox, there are savings to be had there.

You’ll have to do the math for your own order/circumstances, but  it appears you can can build your own for well under $7 CA
