Beating up on a special needs black man is not going to go over well with the judge. Especially since the one goon has a history of violent assaults. He should be put in jail. Jet boats on the Chilliwack/Vedder river should not be allowed upstream of the hwy bridge imo.

I agree based on that evidence but is there other evidence we haven't seen? Best I recall Rufus admitted lobbing a rock into the water. May mitigate what a judge finds or may perhaps that he needs to be charged & go to trial or may be the Crown Prosecutor already looked at that and decided it wasn't in the public intertest. May also be a reason why this took so long to have charges laid.

Met Rufus about a month ago by the train bridge. Seemed like a nice fellow. Chatted for 20 or so.

Maybe this incident will finally put that regulation in effect which I think is the right decision.

Hopefully this fellows priors will be heavily weighed in. Hes proven multiple times that he has a tendency to become violent. Exactly the type of people our current system is being to lenient on. Hard to watch that video and not think why someone didn't come to his defence. Not to escalate but to de-escalate. Calmer heads always prevail.

According to the article, one of the accused was 'found guilty of assault in a domestic abuse case' in 2012, and choked his neighbor in 2022 and 'found guilty of the lesser included charge of assault' and both times he received probation.

Prior convictions of an accused are very seldom allowed as evidence during a trial but may be considered during a sentencing hearing.

I also would not be surprised that those previous criminal acts were associated with a drinking problem. Like re-watch the video folks!

This is why I carry a hunting knife with me. Can't be too careful these days.
Can't get beat up when the other guy's got a 7 in dagger buried in him.

Do you wake up in the morning and think, what sh*t can I make up and post in the internet today.  You have an opinion on every post on this site.  I would guess 80% of the boats going up and down the Fraser or Harrison rivers in the heat of the summer have open alcohol on them.  Usually not a big deal.  To make a comment about someone you don't even know that they have a drinking problem would provoke them into another assault charge.
The post you made about the people that fell through the ice a couple days ago saying "there is a high cost to bad judgement".  I bet the family involved really appreciate your pathetic comments.  Every accidental death has bad judgement on someone's part. No one needs to be reminded about it after the incident.

Did RalphH take your lunch money in grade 4 or something?  You've been beefing with him for years and I'm pretty sure he doesn't even read your posts.  Give it up already, its a sad way to spend your afternoons.

You must be the brightest person that posts here so please tell me of those boats running up and down the Fraser and Harrison Rivers with an open bottle or can of alcohol on board, how many stop to beat up some random person on the shore who happens to wave at them as they go by?

Shauno I do read his posts. He is funny on rare occasion.

In so many accidents/incidences, speed and/or alcohol are involved.  This one is the same.

So if you’re jet boating through a crowd of fishermen in a river you should have the sense to not be jet boating in and one of the fishermen throws a rock “at the water” you would stop and even after seeing that fisherman is clearly challenged you would lay a beating on that man ?
If I’ve misunderstood your post tuna I apologize, I’m just trying to wrap my head around what you’ve just posted.
