Vedder September 15th
« on: September 15, 2004, 07:20:00 PM »

Fished for a couple of hours as I had a meeting with CVRCC to finalize some details of the upcoming [/b]Vedder River Festival[/b] on September 26th. Fished from 1pm to 3pm. Water rose a bit since yesterday, but colour was still pretty good. Visibility was roughly 2 feet, but degrading fast. By the time I left, it was down to maybe 1 foot. It started to rain hard around 2:30pm.

Fished closed to the edge of the bank on a run around the lower river. Some tailouts are just slow enough to provide a good drift. Hooked one fish, chrome, roughly 10 to 15lb, most likely a spring or it was a really big coho. Took my islander for a fast spin before the 8lb test Maxima leader snapped as I was running out of room at the tailout (couldn't go any further, impossible wade). Oh well, next time. Bait was last year's pink roe.

Didn't see any other anglers, didn't see any fish rise either.

Will be back there on Monday if not this weekend. Good luck. :)

Yep, used UG. Normally I use 8lb as I am only after coho. Sometimes 10lb. :)

UG is probably the best line on the market right now, but the Tri BG isn't bad either.

thanx for the report. :)

i haven't had a chance to go this week, but from all the other reports, it seems the hos are making their way up.
also don't count out the banks...especially in high water. ;)
