Today the river was high so i was fishing in the trees I managed to hook a nice maple tree that put up a good fight. I tightened my drag and snapped my line. No biggie. I tied on a new lure cast it out hooked into a beuty chrome spring about 20 pounds. Guess who forgot to loosen the drag. The fish jumped and snap. I also had a coho hit at my feet. Only fished 45 min

Happens to everybody. Hooked my share of branches and trees last weekend at the Stamp. Even managed to hook a dead sockeye in the mouth !

I saw someone at the Cap hook half a coho (dead...) in the mouth, wasn't sure if to keep it...

Sounds like 45min of all out fun   What river were you fishing?  I seem to remember that you're on that big floating rock   Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup. I was on the englishmen a catch and release river for salmon. People have said its closed but its open. If anyone doesnt think so ill show them the regs (People on another site said it was closed and i was poaching). It was fun but i cant wait for CHUM!!!!!! they are my favorite! i get them on a green and pink spoon. Does anyone know any other good spoons? I have gotten 2 chums but only fished them twice.

I cant find the lure i use. It is pink with a chrome back. It has a florescent green lightning bolt on the pink side. I think it was 1/4 onze. I fish below the orange bridge. Not many people if you go before 10:00 noones ever there.

Dad and me have had very good success with gibbs crocs in the 3/8 oz size, specific colours are:
Hammered brass fire wing
Hammered brass stripe (any coloured stripe, especially red)

Easy to cast, and catch lots of fish.

Another good spoon is the gibbs Koho in Blue scale colour, or the Ironhead in the same colour:

Im gonna load up on spoons. I goin out tommorow. Before that im gonna get a few gibbs and crocs. But 6$ is steep! so i dunno how many ill get.

Buy some of Rodney's spoons. They are a heck of alot cheaper than $6.00

But my spoons are useless for chums, they are only good for coho.

Don't worry Rodney, chums have never seen a lure they don't like.
