Eat them.  They are not a very sporting fish, but tasty.  Good luck catching them in the lower mainland though.  I have never heard of that before.  Maybe buntzen has them?  But I doubt it.

a friend of mine caught some in burns lake. used bacon strips on the bottom as bait. not common in the lower mainland lakes though. said they tasted very good deep fried.

As far as I know there are no Burbot here in the lower mainland. Great eating fish! If it's table fair you are looking for, go whack some Bass or Crappie. Bass & Crappie make good substitues for Burbot, just like Rockfish make a good sub. for lingcod.

There are trophy sized burbot in Lake Revelstoke. Though, it's a little far away from the Lower Mainland.

Can you tell me where there are good spots for bass/crappie fishing in the lower mainland?  I am also new here.

Thanks.

So if crappie is a tasty fish, why do they call it crappie? :)

Caught what I thought was a burbot in the Fraser on Saturday. Small one, caught it in 50 ft. depth fishing for sturgeon.
