Squamish River October Tues. Oct 12
« on: October 12, 2004, 09:29:19 PM »

Fished the lower river for about 3 hours today maybe a bit more.
Still early but I did see 6 Chums and beautiful Coho doe as shiny as a new dime.
Hooked/lost one Chum, lost another Coho.
Caught/killed a  Chum-on a Gold  spoon-of all things!
Never saw another fisherman all day-you gotta go where the people aren't-which is exactly what most people won't do.
Sunny/warm an all round wonderful day!
Lotsa delays on the highway so be sure to plan accordingly.

I cleaned my fish right away and kept in in the water-which is quite cold.
Then I placed it 'head off' in a 20 litre pail and it sat in the shade in the back of my truck all the way home.
It was cold and fresh upon arrival no probs.
Until I discovered that my oven had died!
So it steamed piece by piece (6 times) but at least I have lots of fish to eat this week!
