November 5th - Back in action!
« on: November 05, 2004, 08:21:02 PM »

After weeks of coho drought (losing fish during numerous outings, getting other people into fish = less time to fish etc), I am finally getting the coho feeling back. :)

Adipose fin firmly attached, this one went back swimming into the deep channel soon after the photo was taken. :)

Still many coho around for another month, go get 'em! :D

Where? Can't you see? The spoon is connected to the top jaw. ;)

I was there, too...,hiding in the trunk of a Rod's car. ;D

The lure I used was 1oz. copper/neon red, Kit-A-Mat.

What a day it was..  :o  8)

Thanx, so much, Rod & Shane+Shane Sr.,-sans.  :)

Luke said his catch needs to be recognized too, so here it is. :)

Another adipose fin firmly attached, it was back into the water after Luke had a short sweet talk with it. :)

Ok, just woke up with two VERY sore arms.... ;D Our outing yesterday has been the best one so far this season, not based on only the number of hookups, but other qualities as well. It couldn't have been more relaxing, as we had one nice piece of water all to ourselves for the entire day. This meant, we could do a few casts, get into the odd fish, take a break, just sit back and enjoy the scenary etc for a bit before fishing again. I was video taping too and now I am watching 25min. of coho action on TV again and again. :)

Luke and Itosh had more hookups than me yesterday, but I was the first one to get into fish. ;D I was using my spoons, pink striped with a big of prism tape. I think the reason the other dudes got into more fish is their Gibbs Koho spoon (pink or blue striped), which allowed them to fish deeper. Just to assure you how aggressive coho can be in freshwater, Luke had a big buck in his mid teens following his spoon back to shore twice before committing to it on the third cast. :o Most fish hooked were bucks, and in our phone chat last night both Chrome Mykiss and I agreed this is the case because of male's aggressive behaviour during mating. A big spoon represent a little cuttie or dollie that may pose a threat to the eggs that he is fertilizing.

Thanks for the trip guys, now I gotta get ready for work. Oh wait, where is my tip for the guiding trip? ;)

Ummm, shouldn't the guiding tip go to me??  ??? ???
But that is OK, I'll let it slide this time....
I think this pic actually shows Rod's elation at finally getting into a fish better....
you can see the excitement/relief in his eyes.... :o :o
