Yikes... Scary just reading about it....
Often too many don't realize the dangers of those angled ledges....
once we watched two fellas on the east side of Dog Leg, coming down with a inflatable boat... (very cheaply made...) and ONE paddle. One guy threw the boat in the water, jumped in. Guess what, the boat began to deflate.... He paddled frantically back to shore as his buddy tried to grab onto his hand. Funny now when picturing it, but sure was a tense moment when he started to drift a bit.
When fishing with a beginner, your attention should totally be on the beginner, especially it is a kid! When we take newbies or kids out, our eyes rarely look away from them. It makes things easier for yourself too, so you don't have to end up untangling major birdnests or paying for broken rods etc.....
As for the needles etc... I now firmly believe that to solve the environmental, fishery problems, one has to tackle the social problems first.
