Cam, I finally got one...after at least 10 trips to the river. Ran into Chronic before heading out.(around 9:45 a.m.) He told us the story of his 16pounder from the day before, saw the photos as well, That's a pig! Anyways, after some fish stories and more than a few 'bowl fulls' my buddy(FelixFlyfisher) and I wished him good luck and depart to fish some nice runs in the lower. I spotted a good looking piece of water with a nice cut bank and two channels meeting. I thought... there had to be fish in the area, so I flipped a few casts (pro-cured coho roe)with nada touch. After giving up in total despair (after at least 10 trips to the river without a sniff), I put one more half-hearted cast out... not really 'feeling' it. I decided to look up at the snow capped mountains mid drift, but when I looked back to where my float was... it was gone. Here'd it go? Couldn't be a fish...at that moment I felt the headshakes...fish on. After a respectable battle and one nice jump, I beached this chrome beauty. Got some nice photos and kept her. Number one for the season, hopefully there'll be more.
