Where does a guy obtain "prawn tails"?
I buy them in Safeway. They have specials on like they do here in Chilliwack at the moment, 2 packages for $12.98.
I was able to get them also at Save on Foods. They were in a bin and sold as singles. I checked one of the stores here in Chilliwack and they did not have them, some other shops may. I liked to get them that way as I could pick out the smaller ones.
A hint keep them hidden deep in your freezer or your family will eat them on you.
I thaw what I will need for the trip, pro cure them, and then if you have some left over I just freeze them for the next trip.
I had seen them used by others in past years and caught a couple of springs on them as well as a couple of sockeye believe it or not before but was really not that confident using them.
This year I became sold on them as followers of my fishing diaries know I hooked 6 out of my 7 springs on them the last month. I certainly will try them for steelhead this winter maybe Coho will enjoy them also. Always pays to experiment.
Another note: just thought of this, there is other ones for sale called shrimp rings for around $4 I believe. Have not purchased them but "The Master " says they work.
