When we hear all the hooping and haulering coming from the river this this fall we will know it's Dragon with his first 20 lb+ Chum on his fly rod.

5wt can handle them.  Just make sure you have lots of backing and you have to yell (fish on!!!)  really realy loud to make sure that all other fishermen from far far away would know and allow you to play the fish.. ;)

one question... When u watch people fly fish they have a ton of line in the water. Why do they do that?? whenever i do it its because i want to lengthen my cast. but whats the point of it just sitting there in the wateR?? PLUSS  what kind of leader do u use is there a special type?? i just cut some 12 lb test off my salmon rod and used it??

Lindsea (my 13 year old Daughter) and I were out on Darke lake on sunday. This was her third or Fourth time with a fly rod. She was using a fullback along the bottom trying to imitate a dragon nymph. we fished for about 5-4hr she landed 3 10-12" Rainbow and one brookie, but lost 5 or 6 more. she was getting it out there 25 - 30'. Could be one of the best days I had fishing it a long time.

Not entirely sure what you mean by this but here's my best attempt to answer it. The reason people leave their line on the water is becasue its easier to leave it out there rather than reel it in every time and then re-strip it when you want to cast again.

As for leaders, I usually make my own 'tapered' leaders. What that baisicly means is i put a section of 12lb then a section of 10lb then a section of 8lb then 6lb and down to 3-4lb depending on what I'm fishing for. I use regular maxima ultra green and connect the pieces of leader using blood knots.
