Sooke on saturday
« on: August 21, 2005, 03:45:16 PM »

Did a day trip to Sooke yesterday. Got on the water at 10:00 am  fish didn't start biting for us till around 1:00 pm and was fairly constant till about 5:00 pm .We hooked 6 springs but only managed to get two into the boat. Also hooked lots of pinks and a couple coho. We were using anchovies between 50 and eighty feet down. Cheers

if those were the results of a day trip, what you do is book a charter from Sooke. Make a reservation and catch the first ferry over. Get over, do the full day charter, hang around and veg out, shore dinner, etc...leisurely drive back to ferry terminal, and catch the last or 2nd last ferry home. :)

HOW's THAT for fun? $140 ferry fare, and $700 for fishing, and $50 for truck/car gas. and $40 for food. NOW THAT'S a DEAL!!!!

I took a charter and I was alone with the guide it cost me $400+ taxes not $700. Got 2 sockeye, 2 pinks and 1 spring in 5 hours of fishing. Gave the guide a pink for himself as obviously I am only allowed my max 4 fish. Used Rob from Island Outfitters if you want his info just let me know. He was great.

Sorry i got the price wrong.  It is now 480$ for 4 people.  Check out his website at www.2reel.ca .Nothing but good things to say about Ron.  We have been chartered by him for a few years now.
