Some good #'s of springs in upper river.

Talked to a few friends and there are some nice springs being caught right now.  One guide hooked into 13 fresh ones.  Some whites in there as well.

Just to let you know there are plenty of Springs in the Fraser system for a while now but in the last 2 weeks, we encountered higher than normal #'s.  5 to 10 hook ups of Springs are normal for some if you know the trick!  ;)

Your right, there are good numbers of springs on the N. Thompson, Quesnelle, Shushwap, Clearwater, Bowron and Chilko Rivers.  ;)

If my memory serves correct,,,you don't fish for springs on the fraser.  If so,I don't blame you.    For me ,,,I don't support the majority of the fishing methods there.  Unfortunatly I'm so hungry for a good fish fight that I'm heading up there in 6 hours, some where around Peg leg or north of that.  I'll let you know how I did.

Nope, I fish the Fraser for springs. However, right now I'm not really into the whole BB thing. Once they open the socks OR no longer ask us to fish selectivly, then I'll floss the hell outta them. But seeing as how I'm not your mother go right on ahead, besides I always like seeing some good fish porn.

Actually the barfishing has been good too according to the reports that I received in email. ;)

One email reported a total of 9 springs hooked by barfishing on Saturday and Sunday morning. :o

Hey trev,,I was there today,,and it was off and on.    A couple of socks, and pinks only.  My friend had a beauty 18# red spring.  All in all,, not as good as the week-end.  Could it have been the rain.   The water was alot cloudier,,therefor the fish may have not been travelling as much.  After a slow afternoon,,I  switched locals, brought out the fly rod and had a great time with the pinks.  Hope you slay them!

After re-reading the thread I think you missed my sarcasm. It was directed at the UPPER fraser part, not the bb'ing part. Flyrod eh? Perhaps it's time I took mine out for a whirl

Mr.Chan,, It was a refreshing changed to fly yesterday.  It took me a while to get the hang of it though.  Once I got the proper technique on the tail out,,they started hitting the fly's.
