Then you're missing out some good action. ;)

Today we had a couple of hours of no hookups, then we bumped into a few fish in a row. You just never know if there is a school of fish sneaking by you unless your lure is in the water. ;)

How far out can you cast from shore? Do you add weights? Or just that small 3/8" Croc?

255 yards.....

;D

Not sure, 30, 40 meters maybe? Most fish have been hooked several meters from shore anyways, no need to cast far.

And the weight? I usually throw a couple split shots on there to get it out further, but maybe that is just causing me to drag along the bottom, below the pinks?

Fishin' from the boat, 30 yards off shore. Wife and two young kids. We drifted past derby reach about 7pm. 2 or 3 separate schools of pinks swam by us. We hooked 3 fish, lost them all! That was our first trip for pinks. Its gonna be fun :) :)

Fished dyke road today for a while, no fish for me, didnt see any landed either, had a couple on only to loose them at the shore. On a possitive note I did find some neat treasures, I found a small buddha statue, an orange crush pop bottle from the 1960's couple of golf balls, and three lures, one buzz bomb, a spoon and a hootchie, also picked up around 4 dollars in empty bottles and cans. If you are fishing dyke road and see a couple 5gal. pails at the top of the rocks, dont get too close, I saw them and went to investigate only to find them filled with fish guts blood and I noticed a few heads and gills, almost made me toss my cookies, cannot figure out why they are there?

Was another fabulous day spoon fishing for the devils. After I caught and released the fish it went slow like Rodney said but i changed up my spoon and right away had a good fish on. It snapped my 6lbs mainline and took my spoon. :'( Time to beef up the line. ;D Near the end I kid you not, Rodney hooked 3 fish in 15 minutes, I would cast and he would have a fish on so I would have to put my rod down and keep netting his fish. :o Nice cooler shot, taken Chris' ice blocks of old juice containers suggestion and made use eh. ;)

Yap goes the same with Chum.  After you freeze them the meat is like chewing threads (for chum that is).
