pink salmon in superstore
« on: August 30, 2005, 08:02:14 PM »

just came back from shopping. did notice in the seafood section they are selling pink salmon head off and in bags. upon closer inspection you can see deep serated net marks along their body. These pink salmon were harvested by native food fisherman and were bought by superstore. just curious on your guys perception of this. Maybe superstore should be notified of our displeasure of a native food fishery selling to them.If anything superstore should be buying from "real commercial fishing fleet" than a band of selfish natives who don't want to share the resource. just my 2 cents

How can you be so sure they were natives? I've seen a few non-natives out there with nets in the past few days.

who else would have the ability to supply "all" the superstores in a pinch if they needed  fish to sell. not a few non natives i think.

that would be big enough. fish were quite scarred up though with net markings. not to palatable looking.

considering the legal implications i dont think superstore would be to smart to be purchasing fn caught salmon.
