Lower Fraser, Richmond September 8th
« on: September 08, 2005, 09:23:53 PM »

Got to the river around 2pm, nobody in sight, no fish in sight either. Casted for about 30min. and decided to go for a drive, fished for pikeminnow for a bit then headed back to the spot I was at earlier, by this time there were more people fishing, and the fish were surfacing. First pink I hooked was a nice chrome female which I lost on shore, too lazy to get the net :-\, next fish was a big male, luckily a nice lady beside me netted it for me. Short time after that I caught a small jack spring, it was so bright it hurt my eyes 8) but it was a little small so it was quickly released.

Yes there were a few other fish caught, some people did better than others, not saying any names but Im sure Rodney might have something to add to this report.

Despite a heavy load of work that will keep me up late tonight, I sneaked out a few hours to fish because I knew the fishing would be good and it's a great time to fish with the same people who you already know.

I managed to hook seven today, landed four, and kept three very nice female pinks. :)

Here is a photo of badboi helping carpman with his large male pink. :)

Water clarity continues to improve. The takes are still very light, slow down your retrieve and you will get fish.

Very pleasant to fish with fishersak, lucky, chrome mykiss, chrome mykiss' dad, perch, perch's dad, trout slayer, ih8xc, badboi, carpman, double underhook, and a few others tonight. :)

Hi, can you guys show me the spoon you used to catch the pink ? How come the fish never bite my spoon ?  And do I need to cast very far ?

Thanks

Lucky,
the smaller fish was a spring jack? I thought it was a small pink doe from a distance, I should've came over to take a look!

I got skunked but todays another day  ;D

Bruce, you can see the 'magic' spoon in one of Rods Sep reports. Better yet, buy a couple from him, they're definately worth it!
