My favorite is a sage 3113 as well, SIC guides.  Although I do like my loomis as well.  But for some reason, I am always pulling out the sage for steelies.  Love the feel. with those guides, I don't really have to worry about changing them, ever!!

I love my loomis, but seem to use the Fenwick HMX more often.  All depends on which one i feel like taking.  Both reliable rods for me  :)

I've said it so many times but Convergence is way over rated. For them money you will never be able to beat a berkley. I know guys who prefer the berkley to their sage.

I use a Sage 3113lb bait caster with a Shimano calais reel. Sage 3113lb center pin with a John Milner 4-3/8 King Fisher and Sage 3113mb with a Shimano 401te  when I'm in the mood to catch springs. Although I have caught many springs with my lb's, I find the mb's have more back bone. I prefer the extra length great for hard to reach area's.

well... hehe
for many years my favorite rod for ho's and steel and the other salmons has been a berkley series one, 1993 edition. Then a few years ago I started working in a tackle shop  ;D Since i've had opportunities to test many rods. My favorite rod for big water springs is a talon m2 11' 2, for coho's and steelhead would be a Sage 3106, no worries when that 45 to 50 lbs vedder white inhales the roe i intended for the yap of a hatchery coho. For small rivers like the cap i fish a custom lamiglas custom cut from a 10 6 graphite blank and shortened up to 8 ft, killer rod for 3 to 6 lbs hoes. Now for spoons i use a shimano clarus 8ft xtra fast action. Think i got too many rods? well we didn't even touch trolling, spinning flyfishing...... okay i'll shut up now  ;D  ;D

Sage 3106 for the pin and Fenwick HMX for the level wind.
