I used 10lb leader but those chum just cut the lines. What can I use? For both float fishing and fly fishing.

I use 20lbs leader for float fishing leader for chum.  However, I don't fish for chum that much.  I definitely do not target chum the fly.  When fly fishing for salmon, the maximum tippit that I use 15lbs.

15lb Trilene Big Game........cheaper than the Maxima but does the job

Perhaps it was the batch I had but will never go back to Big Game again. I remeber one day I was fishing with a 15lb big game main and a 10lb maxima leader and everytime I would break off a snag it would snap the 15lb.

Maxima does actually over-rate their line, just something to keep in mind. The quality of line is very good (both in colour in and out of the water, but also for it's resistence to abraision). Even though triline does claim to be abraision resistant, I've personally found that it still doesn't compare to maxima. I used to change my main 2-3 times a season using triline (I was younger, and it seemed cheaper, I didn't do the math for how much I used in a season, just for what it cost per spool), I change my Maxima at the beginning of every season (both in the salt and fresh), obviously the numbers differ if I got riggered or spooled...

Chums on drift gear, 15 main, 10 leader (maxima)
Chums on spoons/spinners, 8 lb test (the fight may be longer, but it sure is fun, 10-15 minutes max) (maxima)
Chums on the fly, 8 lb tippet (haven't had a problem yet)

Just keep in mind boys the line rating may be 10 or 20 lbs but as soon as you tie a knot it's reduced to half of it's rating so  10 lbs becomes 5 lbs . I use 20 lbs for Chum and they still break the leader . Just my 2 cents.

Not true, some knots such as the palomar retain the line stregth extremely well.

I am a rigger by trade and a knot reduces the breaking strength by 50% the palomar is defiantly the strongest knot but it still reduces the strength of the line a knot is a knot and the b.s is reduced by 50% Any one that uses tuff line should use the palomar it's the best knot for braided line bar none.

Glad you brought that  up legend i never knew that, and allways thought i tied the hook bad or something cuz it allways snaps around there.
