Interesting stats. I keep a log and it's amazing what one learns after a few years.

Did you do the same thing 2 years ago? I would be interested in seeing the 2 years compared next to each other.

Not on a daily basis, but two years ago the total number was easily double of this year's. The season was about two weeks longer.

Agree, this year doesn't compare with 2 years ago.

Ya thats why I was inquiring. Myself I dont keep a log but from my mental log I can remember having days where I was into 20+ in my area and this year it was nowhere near that. I also believe that the pinks were a little deeper this year making it more difficult to get hookups in the lower river.

Rod-if your hookup ratio is really that poor you need to look closely at a few things.
Hooks-what kind/design?
Line-too thick?
Rod type/action?

I know Sam... :-[ Most of the time, it's just carelessness.

Hook type is one factor. I hook more fish on these longer shank hooks, but the hook does flex a bit, that's what causing it. I am not so concerned about landing them most of the time, as long as I get a few to take home from the entire season. ;)
