Well Since the long turkey weekend is over and there are no new reports Ill mention my yesterday trip on the Vedder. I headed out to a hole where I had many hookups and had caught 5 springs the previous day. But turned up empty handed after 2 hours, so i decided to target coho somewhere else. I used previous information I had got from people on what to look for and use when fishing for coho and tried some of these tactics. I tried 5 different sections of water where I thought they might pass or hold, but still no action. It was until i found a narrowing section on one spliting side of the river, First cast and BOOM fish on. It made its run down river right away and took some air for a couple seconds, just enough time for me to make out a coho. Wow I thought shaking, my first coho if i can land it. The next thing i know is the damn thing beaches itself for me, right in front of a bunch of guys just down from me. They kindly take a bunch of pictures of me and my 8lb wild buck and off it goes. What still makes me shake is the first cast hit, But now I can say I officially landed all 5 pacific salmon and a steelhead.
