Chahelis Nov. 1st: Great Day!!
« on: November 03, 2005, 01:12:45 PM »

Hit the river Tuesday about 9am and it was wet and nasty. Hiked most of all the native run and most all the water is unfishable over there when the water is up due to this diversion blowing through there now. Was really good over there a week or so ago when water was down but these days it's a waste of time unless you like fishin in the trees. Headed back to just above the hatchery about 10am and past a couple of guys that said lots of guys were nailing them. Put on a big wad of the darker orange type cured roe and first drift chrome hatch slammed it and actually took some time to get the hook out it was so far down it's throat! Very next drift "bam" again another gorgeous chrome hatch. 20 minutes later landed one more and then later lost my forth which of course looked to be the biggest. Then it died down at about 1pm and due to freezing fingers I headed home with the rewards. Yesterday was a different story as the rains ended early in the day and water was dropping nothing was biting for anyone I saw. With the rains today and tomorrow should be good the weekend. Didn't see any colored cohos at all, all chromers!
Just a heads up, most all the gas stations after Mission were out of roe so get it in the city to be safe.
Cheers!
