ok, I went fishing for a day and I came home to see five complaints in my email, you really don't want me to go catch all the fish do you?
Here's the thing with the report section.
It's not mandatory to state the location/river system where you are fishing in when you post a report, this report section can also be known as the story/bragging section.
However, if you choose not to reveal your location, be prepared to have people who will ask you where you were fishing, both privately and publicly.
I have no control on what people ask, and I don't really care if you ask or not. To those who choose to ask, my suggestion would be not to bother as if the poster wanted you to know, he or she would have posted it in the first place. My feeling towards this is mutual. Typically when I read the reports, I enjoy looking at others' photos and reading the stories. I don't think I've ever asked the locations, but I've already accumulated a list of locations where I would fish throughout the season over the years. I can understand why some would want to know, if they are just getting into fishing.
marmot, you're right that in some aspect FWR discussion forum is a public one. I keep it opened to the public so all can use it as a tool to communicate, share information, learn and make friends. The forum is privately owned, by me
, so it does have some restrictions to it. These restrictions are not a concern if the members know how to play nice. Generally the no-no's of this forum include disrespecting other members, foul language, posting of offensive information (inappropriate for minors, etc). There isn't an exact set of rules that moderators use to control the forum, so we do miss the odd items every now and then. If anyone has a concern on a particular post, they can always report it to us and we do our best to take care of it ASAP. I try to control it as little as possible and over the years it has been fairly easy to do thanks to all the members.
Play nice, there's still plenty of fish for people to catch. The season is not over yet. Now, don't bother me when I go fishing next time.
Oh yes, Thomas, congrat. on the hatchery coho. 1 month and 22 days after I landed my first one.
