Where Did They Go, Vedder On Jan.4
« on: January 04, 2006, 12:09:46 PM »

Reached the river at first light and was the first one to the run of yesterday's action in great anticipation of once again seeing my float go down on the first cast. But a few dozen casts proved there was not a fish there or if there was it was not interested in biting. I moved on to explore some new water and found some good spots but also came up empty at all of them.

It was a pleasure to meet fisherforever at one of the spots and had a good visit with him before I moved on once again. Ran into Helmut and Mavis at the next run but he said he had nothing either. On the way down I saw a fellow strike a fish with the pole having a nice bend for a second or two but it proved to be a good sized trout or dolly.

The river once again was in good shape and lots of anglers snooping around on both sides of the river.

My only other reward other than enjoying a pleasant 4 hours on the river was picking up $1.50 worth of tins paying nearly for my morning's coffee at Tims. Off to badminton now to get some more exercise.

O yes I saw an angler packing a fish and I believe we may hear more about that later in the day. ;D ;D

Looked like a very nice steelhead, congratulations.

Good job Big Steel! I too may have found a little chrome today, water was perfect! :)
I guess we have to thank Gadsden for leaving us mere mortals a couple of fish!  ;)

Fisherforever was impressed with it when he had the honour of seeing it today. Of course he is a Leaf fan as well, I think this forum has more Toronto fans than any other team. I know you are lone supporter of your team and I think there is still a Canuck fan or two left but most have gone into hiding now. ;D ;D

Bedtime now as completed the steelhead derby article for the Chilliwack Progress and besides a steelhead awaits tomorrow if the wind we are getting lets up and not too much rain that is in the forcast

Tomorrows story on FWR could be, a double header on the Vedder, watch for it but maybe I am getting too sure of myself, a no no as we all anglers know.
