Headed out with my brother to 'Ceaser' flow. My alarm never did go off so I started the day off an hour and a half late.
Got there and the water high but very fishable. Walked down to ES run only to find several people working it over already.
Decided to fish it anyways so I took a spot in line and worked my way through the run. No takers. Next I tried fishing the side channel that goes down to the hatchery. Once more nobody home, although I did see quite a few tomatoes in the shallows. By this point I looked at my brother and said 'looks like we're going to have to go for a walk.' After a half hour of hiking we arrived at our usual spot. My brother started off with a rubber worm while I fished, shrimp, blades and jigs. A few casts in and my brothers float goes down and he's into a fish. A short second later it popped off the hook.
We continued to fish the spot without result so we went down to another spot. Shortly after arriving my brother rolls yet another fish.
I decided to go change up and when I look back up he's into another fish. This one cooperates and is quickly to hand. It's wild so it is quickly released.
After fishing the pool for a while longer we decide to go back up to our original spot. First cast and he's into yet another fish. This one puts up a good fight including several jumps. This one turns out to be a 7lb summer run buck. It's fairly colored so back into the drink it goes.
Very next cast he hooks another fish. This one is another chromer, and we get it into the shallows after a little thrashing on the surface. I suppose we took a little too long looking for the addipose fin because as soon as I went to grab it it spat the hook.
Oh well. Good day overall, the rain cooperated and just started to pour again as we were hiking out. Here's some pics from the day.
Oh yeah, just in case you couldn't figure out where 'Caeser' flow is its the Chehalis
