Arrived At my spot on the lower river at first light with a good feeling for my 41 st birthday figuring what a better way to celebrate getting old by spending the day chasing steel, headed out to my first run only to see the clarity of the water was not that great but it was fishable, was surprised to see very few other fisherman on the river,i fished several nice pieces of water with only one strike and a ripped open roe sack to show for it ,after about 3 hours of no success i decided to see what the upper river was like, the upper was in very good shape and it looked promising,i fished roe sack ,jensen and yarn ,and pink worms with no success, then decided to put on a silver colorado and re fish some of the areas i had allready covered in the upper river, thats when i hit my first steely of around 8to 10 pounds and wild ,after a spirited battle she was sent on her way, then two casts later through the same run bam fish on , this one a bit bigger after several jumps and good runs and me wiping out trying to work my way around some stumps the 12lb hatchery hen was on the beach, due to the lack of fish in my diet lately she was quickly dispatched, after a few pics it was time to head for home , it was a beautiful day on the river today,i cant think of a better way to have spent my bday with a little present for my self.
