.. which system(s) is that if you dont mind sharing
All were from the SSS system on Vancouver Island (Stamp/Somas/Sproat Rivers). Unfortunately fishing has slowed to a dead trickle, certainly not what we expect from here this time of year. Spent a week straight at it with a couple of buddies, banking 5 days, jet ride for 1, and pretty well covered every inch from the falls down multiple times. Results were 8 to hand over the entire period... OUCH! That's what I generally consider a decent day,and certainly not good for a week. A buddy drifted the upper 3 times for 2 summers and single wint total all 3 trips. The guides are reporting numbers well off the mark, and everyone is scratching their heads!
Now we're hoping they're simply late, and as most of the salmon runs were late last fall, this might be an explanation. Time will tell... Certainly hoping that is the case, as I'd hate to think we're witnessing this great system go the way of the Gold and so many others!!!
Lack of fish haven't kept the crowds away! Last friday saw more folks on the flow than I have through a weekday in a very long time. Spoke with 25 or so, and heard of 1 summer landed, 2 LL released chromers. OUCH!!
Giving it a day or off to recover, can't deal well with the disspointment on such a frequent basis. Hoping to find some soon, and likely looking later in the week...
