public hearings are called by whom ?

Since this is within Provincial jurisdiction, BC will have the final approval. FVRD will sign off on it, if it's a go.
It is therefore very important that we register our concern and interest with the Province: BC Mininstry of Agriculture and Lands and BC Environment. All correspondence should be cc'd to the Minister, Barry Penner.
Once the environmental report is released to the Province, it is public property and anyone can get a copy of it, if not willingly released by the Province, then under Freedom to Information legislation.

skewing the fact comes from the Stock side of things. Every press release is ment to generate intrest and additional stock profit. The more press realeases with nothing but good news in it the more money they make.
Its all about creative editing and writing.... >:(

Just wanted to bump this to the top of the discussion forum again.
Any further developments in this proposal? Anyone?

Does anyone know if there are any public meetings planned about this?  Is there any chance for public input? I'm surprised that Mosquito is talking about work starting on this, before there has been some kind of broader "stakeholder" process.

A week ago (February 7th), this issue was brought up at the Fraser Valley Fishery dialogue between the sportfishing group and Fraser Valley First Nations. The Chehalis First Nation has indicated that at this point they are not in favour of the grand, full-blown scheme that the developers may want to pursue. Other technical stuff was discussed as well, but I am not in the position to say what has been said because I was not at this meeting.

When I was at the SDA meeting on Friday I was told the DriftFishers are now taking the lead on this so maybe someone from that organization can update us.

Bump...ish , any recent news folks ?
still looking for a decent scale map of the chehalis showing named pools, trying to compile a map showing proposed work in or around the river .

Nothing lately, maybe Randog can update for us as I said the drift fishers were working on this file. We have been spending some time on the gravel removal on the Fraser. Rodney will be posting a video of this in the next while, when his work load decreases.
