Borrowed Pen
« on: January 22, 2006, 08:16:35 PM »

After landing a 10 lb steelhead today I realized I had lost my pen and asked an angler who happened to be close by if he had a pen I could use. He had mentioned that he had been fishing with Chris yesterday but I failed to ask his name. I think it was Big Steel but I'm not certain. I lose pens and pliers out of my vest like water being poured out of a bucket. Thanks for your assistance .

We have all done that or not have one that will write because it got damp.

Once and maybe I should not admit it but I landed a steelhead just above the Crossing, no pen, no one else around so had to hide the fish and walk back to the Riverside Restaurant to get a pen out of my car.

It was a bit embarrassing for me to say the least, what a beak I was. ::) Now I pack two. ;D ;D

O, well done buck you are on a roll now. ;D ;D ;D

Buck, was that you? :o :o Well Darn nice job on the fish then!!!  That was the second day in a row that you walked past me fighting a fish!!!  Great job!! ;D ;D  I am now 0 for my last 5 on!!  But, that will be changing by the weekend if I have anything to say about it!! ;D ;D  Think that I'll have to grill you for some tricks the next time I run into you!!  If I had known it was you I would have snapped a few pics for you!! ;)

Big Steel, I didn't realize that was you until I read Chris's post about fishing with you the day before. You had mentioned that you were fishing the day before with Chris after I borrowed you pen. I didn't put two and two together until I got home. I haven't had a lot of time to fish steelhead and the days I have fished the water was questionable at best, except for this past weekend. It does help to have a buddy or two fishing every day to let you know where the fish are being caught. Sounds like you are doing pretty good even though you record is 0 -5. I always say its better to be hooking and losing them ,than not to hook them at all. Hope to see you on the river and next time we can have a chat.
