That "report" is as much an advertisement than anything else. Interesting that he caught mature and not feeders at this time of year.  8)

If they were indeed caught at this time of year...experience based on the details of the report tells me they weren't feeders.

I looked at his prices..WHOA! This guy is really expensive for what he offers and he's also a bit more expensive or at a premium to some of the other operators in the area. . I should get a fleet of boats..buy some land..set up cottages...hire some grunts..and undercut his prices by 25% ..and STILL make a chunk o' cash. Wouldn't take much...

I remember when my friend took me over to Tofino a couple of years ago..it amazed me how the "guides" over there championed themselves and charged outrageous rates. I actually found that pretty exceptional...hate to say it..but the clients/ "victims" were mostly tourists.

Why are you bad mouthing him so much? I have heard he is a good guide. Even if the prices are a bit high its what people will pay to catch fish everyones trying to make a living. What details make you thing they are migratory?

I guess you have to think like a business man and remember how much overhead there is in any business....plus the fact that there are certain seasons that people wanna fish .... alot of the year he probably has to find other work to make ends meet...it is not all roses in business...people say the same thing about my business..." I must be rolling in the dough"  yeah right I can barely pay myself at the end of the day after over head is paid..... if it was so easy to make money guiding I am sure there would be a heck of alot more people doing it..... something to think about

Oh...I don't know about that..there's a difference between feeding a family and gouging. Who said business owners are squeaky clean ethical by their very nature? Actually..if I got competitive with him..he'd be bad mouthing me...don't you kid yourself...at any rate...actually I know what it takes to run a business..I have several friends in the business in Sooke, Vancouver and the Charlottes. I used to be a F/T guide..year round as a matter of fact.. and I'm actually thinking on returning to the business for the summer at one of the lodges I used to work for...before I take my MBA in the fall. As a matter of fact..I may just start my own charter business..and then compete with some of my friends...with a large size company!!!

At any rate..I'll let him run his business they way he wants..that's his business..

As for the previous question..how do I know they are not feeders? There are 3 details and one of the dead giveaways is the appearance of those fish..and I have caught more than a few to know better and those fish aren't feeders.
