July 18th report laidlaw
« on: July 18, 2004, 08:41:46 PM »

First the report,
I was at Laidlaw about 5ish...1 strong hookup I cant identify... very powerful retreat to the depths and sulked for a while ... while sulking I could not move it ... like a snag.... strong pulling resulted in about 15 feet of line taken... only to lose it and about the same again.

Hook pops loose to end the duel... I'm thinking sturgen can any one verify this is this how they act?

Hooked a couple of Socks as well and had some quality assistance in a smooth release. Thanx!

I saw a Spring taken early in the day and another brought to the beach ... only to go nuts and excape when a well intentioned samaritan produces a net. ::)

Kinda slow all around.
CJ.

Fished laidlaw this morning for a bit. Only saw a few sockeye caught and heard that only one spring was hooked and lost earlier in the morning. Really slow day otherwise!

cool to meet ya too and yeah those trains are a pain in the a$$
surprisingly it was not to busy and the crowds went to bad
but there again the gong has not yet sounded

hey fishin freak exnai on the ostleh ishfeh

word of advice folks if someone ASKS for help then start buy offering to hold there rod while they step in to tail there own fish  ;)

ask before using a net because this could be a sure fire way of spooking the fish if you dont get it right the first time ;)
