Chilliwack River, July 18th 2011
« on: July 19, 2011, 12:25:35 PM »

Got a nice and early start to the day yesterday, went fishing for red springs on the Ched.  Left the house by 6:15, after a little scrambling to finish preparing the roe I had intended to finish the night before!!!  Oh well, a crazy start is nothing new  ;D

Got out on the water after a brief Tim's stop, as well as Fred's to spin some new line on my partners reel.  Decided it was a great day for a drive, and went up to Allison.  Water was HIGH, but not impossibly quick.  Put a few casts through, ended up hooking a decent cuttie of all things.  Didn't see any springs up there, although I did hear some splashing at times.

After a quick lunch on-river, we headed back down the road to Tamahi, and hit the backside of the river.  I know this pool has a name, but I cannot remember it for the life of me!  We put a few lines through, but nothing.  Saw a guy downstream hook one momentarily, but he lost it quite quickly.  We ended up just clearing a space on the shore and having a quick nap...lovely!  Very much a day to put the fishing vs. catching debate to rest in my mind!

Took a couple photos - had an incredible view downriver!

If you don't like the fish you're catching... change the bait!!
