Non-tidal Fraser River, August 19th 2011: Haig Scale Bar
« on: August 20, 2011, 01:11:08 PM »

was at the scale bar yesterday from 10 until 4. VERY slow compared to last weekend and monday. Saw fish being caught, but it wasn't like before. I only got one in 6 hours of fishing that I kept, along with a pink I released and 2 other foul hooked sox I released. My friend got her 2 but we both had to work very hard.

Maybe this is the commercial gillnetter opening shadow?

DFO came down there and gave out a couple dozen fines for barbed hooks, poaching, retaining a foul hooked fish and was confiscating fish too. Apparently there were undercovers there the whole day. I saw a guy get a $150 fine for failing to record an adult chinook on angling licence. probably the dumbest and easiest mistake one could make - remember to record your catches guys!

Thanks for the update, good to see DFO out and about, no sympathy for people that can't follow the rules/regulations.
